Glenn, if you really want to get this message across, please make another video and get to the point, I persevered with your unnecessarily wordy video with a ton of patience and fast forwarding, I have tried to show this video to several others, none of whom have watched it through to the distant point where you choose to reveal your findings, we all found it quicker to find another post on the subject rather than listen to your never ending dialog about anything except the answer to the question at hand. Really really boring man, We are looking for facts Glenn, not to be entertained, we have movies for that. Before taking it apart put ink marks on the joints so it goes back the same way.

Is it normal for the armature shaft to move back and forwards when assembled.

I suggest a carbon monoxide detector.

I normally never coment but this video helped me a lot I got a mower from a guy for free who couldn’t get it running he said he couldn’t figure it out it had spark compression and fuel he even said the timing was right but I ended up checking everything again just to be sure took the head off put it at top dead center put the head back on and adjusted the valves and one of them the torque screw was backed almost all the way out I didn’t have a gap checker so I eye balled it and now it runs great

The only thing a 7.3 needs and loves is trans fluid in the diesel. Truck fleet i worked for did this for years and he still has 30yo trucks

I flipped one of these backward when I was 13 years old. We were pulling small trees out of a fence row and had the chain tied too high. My muddy foot slipped off the clutch peddle at the wrong time, and over I went. The only thing that saved me was a branch from the tree that knocked me off to the side enough that the steering shaft and tractor missed my body. It crushed my hand under the steering wheel, but that was it.

Wow! 5 Carberators?!?! I've been using cheap Chinese knock-off carbs for many years and only had a problem with one of them. It had metal flash from the casting process in the bowl that would randomly get sucked into the main jet and then fall back out. A customer brought it back and said it would not run. I kept it for two weeks to cut my complete yard almost twice before it had any issues. I pulled the carb bowl off and found aluminum flash pieces in the bottom.

What sander did you use?

To me, the most impressive part of this job was the prep work prior to painting. Excellent.

No need for gloves or long sleeves. Aluminum doesn't get that hot when you cut it with a skill saw. Safety glasses for sure! It's much easier to cut on the smooth side.

Stuff is Garbag... Fills up tiny orifices in the cooling system with aluminum powders. Only fit for cars on a Used Car lot.
